About the project
Eclectic. Independent. Unfiltered.
From the 45th line of latitude south… somewhere on the West Bank… this is Delta Rootz Rock Radio.
Streaming an eclectic collision of rock, pop, punk, classical, alternative, metal, ska — anything with soul, sweat, strings, or distortion. This isn’t network radio. This isn’t a playlist built by committee.
Started in July 2025 as a passion project by Grant Stewart — former award-winning indie station announcer and lifelong non-supporter of mainstream network radio. He sharpened his craft in the Pacific Northwest at KISW, The Rock of Seattle. The Seattle Sound taught him: music isn’t background noise, it’s atmosphere. Rebellion. Poetry in overdrive.
We’ve built a database of over 8,000 tracks and counting. No algorithms. No corporate filters. Just taste. Instinct. And volume. You might hear The Clash collide with Chopin, Metallica shake hands with Madness — or something you’ve never heard before, but won’t forget.
Indie spirit with global reach. A pilot’s precision with a rebel’s heart. Strap in… turn it up… and leave the mainstream behind. Music without a net.
The crew
The two behind Delta Rootz — taste on the air, and the sound that carries it.

Founder
Grant Stewart
Founder of Delta Rootz. Former award-winning indie announcer with time on air at KISW — The Rock of Seattle. By day he works in aviation: flying commercially, lecturing in Human Factors, and when he’s not in a cockpit, flying his own warbird through open skies. Precision. Discipline. Freedom — the same principles that guide the station.

Engineer
Jono Cloudesley
Jono caught the radio bug at eight and never let go. He worked alongside Grant for years at Q92 FM in Queenstown, earned a broadcasting qualification, and specialised in production and audio engineering — the bloke behind the sound who makes station imaging hit harder and audio come alive. His rule: start with audio at 0 dB, not −20. Great radio shouldn’t be predictable.
